Meet the Team

Alex Martinucci

Education and Research Project Consultant

At CREATE Education, I ensure that every customer or researcher I work with is pushing the limits of what they thought the technology could be used for. I can’t help but take a personal interest in the projects of the amazing people we work with and I delight in working closely with them to provide tips on slicing, recommendations for better materials or optimising their workflow!

I’ve been involved with CREATE Education since I met them during my GCSE years.  That’s over 10 years ago, but I started working officially for CREATE Education in January 2019.

My previous roles had a large focus on optimising workflows using 3D Printers. I also worked closely with people to realise their ideas from notepad to hands. At CREATE Education, I get to apply a huge amount of the skills I’ve learned from my previous roles, whilst helping out young people and educators.

The impact CREATE Education makes in education is the reason I wanted to join the team. CREATE Education’s mission is simple; breaking down barriers to give anyone in education access to 3D technology. Having worked outside of education, I’ve experienced the skills gap in an Industry 4.0 environment and I hope my work with CREATE Education can help to fix that.

The best part of the job is getting asked for help with something I’ve never heard of before.

Having a good deep dive into someone’s project and seeing how I can help them just makes me tick. I guide all of our customers towards the right technology for the job and help them avoid mistakes I’ve made in the past.I love sharing my knowledge and seeing the success of these amazing projects – it’s the best feeling!

My best WOW moment since working at CREATE Education was seeing a Millennium Falcon from Star Wars 3D printed. Why was this so WOW you might ask? Well, the model in question could happily sit on the tip of a pencil!

I never knew I needed one and the second I put it on my desk and looked away I lost it forever but that moment blew my mind!  What 3D printing can do and the limitless nature of it is why we need to weave it into the curriculum.

I’ve got some amazing projects lined up this year and I’m on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what the next ‘game changer’ technology is and how I can find weird and wonderful ways of using it in applications we’ve never thought of.

Reach out to me if you’ve got a crazy project and you don’t know how to get started with it!

You can also reach out  if you’re looking to see if the tech we offer would even suit your needs. I’ll go through what you want to do with the technology, we’ll talk about the main pain points you’re worried about and I’ll find the right machine or solution that fits you best.
