World Skills UK and CREATE Education partner to bring brand new Additive Manufacturing Competition to FE and HE students

We are thrilled to announce that The CREATE Education Project is now partnered with World Skills UK and that, from 2023, we will be delivering a brand new 3D printing and Additive Manufacturing section of the competition aimed at Post-16 students.

World Skills UK are an independent charity who work in partnerships with employers, education and governments to promote international best practice and raise standards in apprenticeships and technical education. World Skills UK does this by offering college and University students, as well as those undertaking apprenticeships, the opportunity to take part in competitions, based on training and assessments. Teams compete regionally, nationally and internationally to achieve world-class standards in their chosen skill.

To date, World Class Skills has not hosted an Additive Manufacturing competition and we are more than happy that we at the centre of developing this new category. CREATE Ambassador and 3DGBIRE employee, Steve Taylor, was approached to develop the entire competition category – from developing the preliminary tasks, right the way through to the final skills project that national level teams will use to decide the best in class.

We will be at the World Skills UK 2022 finals at Blackpool and Fylde College on November 15th and 16th 2022 where we will be hosting a stand for tutors and students to find out more about this brand new competition category and how they can get involved for 2023 onwards.

Any college, university, or apprenticeship provider can come to the World Skills UK 2022 finals and take their students along to see the show of world-class skills on show from the best up and coming young people in their field of expertise.

We will be announcing more in the next few weeks, but for now, why not check out the World  Skills UK website: https://www.worldskillsuk.org/ and get your students booked in to see the 2022 finals.
