Dave Evans, technical engineering lecturer (mechanical), CEMAST.
I am a time served mechanical engineer (1976-1980), spent 30 years in the trade (as a sub-contractor) programming, tooling and running CNC mills/lathes.
Came into teaching/lecturing in 2006 and gained my Cert Ed/QTLS and HNC in 2006/8.
Working now at Fareham College, which is now CEMAST (Centre of Excellence, Manufacturing and Advanced Skills Training), a new facility with great resources.
We run CAD (Solid-Works)/CAM/CNC (HAAS) courses through BTEC and use our 3D printers as R+D for these courses.
The printers are also utilised for open days, STEM fairs and inter school design challenges.
