Gareth Dyer

Gareth Dyer is a Teacher, Computing Lead, D&T Lead and STEM Lead at Hempland Primary School. He has been teaching for over 15 years, and for the majority of these he has had a keen interest in STEM education, working as a Space Ambassador, STEM Ambassador and is an accredited trainer for the STEM Learning Centre. He has led Maths and Science, as well as his current subjects, and has taught across Key Stage 2. Throughout his teaching career, Gareth has led CPD in a range of areas, and on behalf of a variety of partner.
Most recently, Gareth has been working on building a rich and diverse DT and Computing curriculum for his school, with a combination of technical skills and investigation at the heart. As part of this, he has built 3D Printing into the curriculum, initially through the CREATE Education Loan Scheme, and then buying 2 Ultimaker 2+ Connect printers.
His passion is fostering a love of engineering and computing in Primary age children, promoting STEM industries for girls, and developing staff confidence and subject knowledge.
