
Michael Nelson
Michael has 20 years’ experience teaching Design & Technology across many material areas, at GCSE and A-Level. His mid-level leadership experience as Head of D&T and Engineering within a Technology College for 7 Years has resulted in directing the Digital D&T Initiative within Durham and Tees Valley.
Since 2012, Michael has worked with the Royal Academy of Engineering as a Connecting STEM Teachers coordinator. He is also a resource creator and presenter for STEM Learning UK, this includes CAD and Robotics, since 2016.
Currently a D&T Consultant, Michael is also the Founder of CAD2CODE and works with Durham LA Advisory Service, developing D&T in primary and secondary schools, running workshops to engage pupils with Engineering and D&T.
Michael is Event Partner for the North East for VEX Robotics, running regional competitions for VEX EDR and IQ, also mentoring and coaching teams, taking teams to National Robotics Competitions over the years.
Michael is now an Autodesk Certified Instructor; and is confident using and teaching with Tinkercad, Fusion 360 and Inventor!
