I have been a member of the Ultimaker GB extended family since its early days. Now I’m proud to be ambassador of the CREATE Education Project! I currently work at the University of Central Lancashire on the DigitME2 project which helps promote new technologies among manufacturers and engineers, obviously 3D printing is one of these. I am a self-taught 3D printer who now helps to pass on those skills though the DigitME program as well as through Ultimaker GB and Create Education workshops and training courses. I will admit to being a happy hacker of the Ultimaker platform with one of very few dual printing Ultimaker 2 machines in action.

With 3D Printing proving to be an invasive technology that has impacted on almost every industry it is wonderful to support a project that prepares our next generation. A project that empowers children and gives them the skills that will be ever present in jobs of the future. In addition to this its wonderful to see the project develop a sense of wonder in children and give them access to a tool that stimulates there imagination, supports their learning and takes education off the page, creating a modern learning environment that inspires young minds and changes the approaches of teachers across the country.

The only new requirement is to learn the new definition of the phrase ‘this is sick….’
