I’m particularly keen to highlight creativity and innovation in the use of 3D printing and STEAM technologies to inspire the future generations of artists, inventors and innovators.

I’m often astounded at what is achievable using 3D printing and am fascinated about the innovative work and research that is being undertaken across all fields but particularly in areas of industrial, product and fashion design.

My interest in creativity and the development of creativity in education and with young people, has been lifelong. I’m particularly passionate about putting the ‘A’ in STEAM and encouraging design thinking and making skills and ensuring the important and vital impact arts have on our everyday lives is heard within industry and community.

I’m a PGCE qualified Applied Art and Design teacher with broad experience of  researching and developing creative activities and have been a Chartered Marketer for the past 9 years and have worked within marketing and brand for over 15 years in creative and collaborative roles including Children’s book publishing and as a subscription and membership marketer for the Farmers Guardian brand.

I’m passionate about people having creative opportunities as creativity is fundamentally important in life and a solid skill foundation set for whatever an individual goes on to do in later life, opportunities to utilise the potential of 3D printing and STEAM technologies should be cross-curricular and available to all ages and abilities – not limited to the STEM subjects.

Imagination is limitless and the happy accidents that occur when we are allowed to play have resulted in some of the world’s greatest inventions.

“To develop a complete mind: Study the science of art; Study the art of science. Learn how to see. Realise that everything connects to everything else.” Leonardo da Vinci

I’m constantly learning and building knowledge to look at ways to inspire, innovate and create and develop my skills and practice so that I can share this with others.
