Print City are a modern digital manufacturing facility on the Manchester Metropolitan University campus, specialising in additive manufacturing and education. They are unique in that we work with everyone and anyone so if you want to take those first steps in CAD, study for an advanced qualification or want to see your designs come to life then please contact Print City here . Print City are an innovative hub of additive and digital manufacturing at Manchester Metropolitan University.
Working with a variety of businesses and individuals, ranging from students and researchers, to small businesses and staff looking to upskill, they offer strong on-site support and industry connections within and beyond the University.
If you want to ‘go digital’ with your business, then Print City have the perfect place to start. All printed parts begin with a CAD file and they have a dedicated CAD area with 32 powerful machines running Autodesk Fusion 360.
On site, they boast a large and varied range of 3D printers for manufacturing plastic and metal parts, coupled with facilities for investment casting of small metal parts such as jewellery (see the current list). They also have a broad range of associated technologies, including scanning, laser welding and laser-cutting. Their dedicated post-production area houses equipment to finish plastics and metals, to ensure your designs are ready to go.
Education is at the heart of PrintCity and they work across multiple disciplines within the University. Outside the University, they’re working with pupils and staff from schools and colleges to bring them up to speed about the very latest technology.
