Until year 2000 I was a primary school teacher specialising in maths and science. Since leaving teaching I have been a freelance paper engineer, writer and graphic designer. I love the accessibility of paper engineering, with a pair of scissors and a sheet of card anyone can make all kinds of amazing mechanisms. On my website www.robives.com I’ve mapped out my journey through the world of paper engineering. On the way, I hope that I have inspired others to join in the fun!
In 3D printing I see the same amazing possibilities. Easily accessable technology with super possibilities far exceeding those of paper engineering. As I learn, and experiment and make mistakes and discoveries I hope to share the excitement of my journey into the brave new world!
