I’m Steve Cox, and for many years I was involved with the design and development of some of the finest vehicles in the world for Jaguar and Land Rover. I’ve designed, developed and tested vehicles to their limits in the UK, as well as on the other side of the world in Australia and in the frozen wastes of Northern Canada. I have led teams of up to 25 people in bringing vehicles from the stylist’s pen and early concept stage right the way through to volume production.
My passion is now 3D printing, and I bring all that industry experience and engineering knowledge into exploring the opportunities that are emerging for this exciting new technology.
These activities include developing and delivering educational content and “making” ideas for the introduction of 3D Printing to primary, secondary and further education students.
I truly believe that the generation that are currently within the education system will be the ones who really go on to explore the full potential, and possible applications, of this technology. My aim is to deliver this as part of the CREATE Education Project and, in doing so, to inspire the next generation of creators, makers, engineers and technologists.
I am also an accredited Autodesk Expert Educator for Fusion 360, as well as being a registered STEMNET Ambassador
