BAE Systems – Inspiring Lancashire

The Inspiring Lancashire project is a collaboration between BAE Systems, CREATE Education, Lancashire LEP and Innovate Her, funded by a £300,000 investment from BAE Systems. Up to 7,500 young people in Lancashire will benefit from programmes designed to enhance their digital skills. These aim to inspire young people about digital and tech careers to help build Lancashire’s future digital workforce, by providing online education, 3D printers and practical training for 70 schools located across the region.
CREATE Education are providing 3D Printers to 50 schools across Lancashire, software, hardware and curriculum training for 100 teachers and school workshop days for 3000 students, careers experiences to inspire and a design challenge project for students to engage and consolidate the knowledge and digital skills gained from participating in the program. Schools will also be provided with projects and resources and a 3D printing excellence framework to assess and measure the impact of the program.
