Ultimaker 3D printers are renowned for being reliable and with a few regular maintenance procedures you can ensure it’s reliability for thousands of printing hours. 3DGBIRE have produced a handy routine maintenance guide to help you to keep your printer in tip-top condition. Read the guide here
One of the most common problems in the classroom with 3D Printers is a blocked nozzle or under extrusion where the material is passing though a partially blocked nozzle. Dirt or carbonised material can build up inside the nozzle or another hot end part, causing your print walls to become thin and stringy.
It is recommended that you clean the nozzle of your Ultimaker by performing an ‘Atomic Clean’ from time to time to prevent this. The same process can also be used to unblock the nozzle.
The video below walks you through the Atomic Method for cleaning your printer nozzle.
