This resource has been developed and kindly shared with CREATE Education by 3D Pen Artist Barbara Taylor-Harris.

In this project which takes approximately 2 hours to complete, students develop skills with a 3D pen, then they apply their skills to create “Year of the Rat” keyrings, bag tags or tealight covers.

The project resource includes:

  • 3D pen techniques, tips and tricks.
  • Rat design templates for creating keyrings and bag tags.

In The Classroom

This resource is a great topical practical skill building and making resource that can link to both the Art and the Design Technology Curriculum. The resource is also not confined to Chinese New Year, students could follow up by drawing their own templates for 3D pen creations around any topic or theme.
